Space

Do you ever feel like you are drowning in the midst of life?
Feel overwhelmed?
Take some space...

eat breakfast alone at a coffee shop and linger over the pages of a book...read about the Israelites exodus from Egypt (uninterrupted)...and pen some thoughts in your journal...

drive on the road less traveled...pull over and listen to a woodpecker...

                                                  gaze at a distant barn...

get some perspective...
take a break...
take a day to rest...
Be Still...
and Know that He is God!

Thank you to my sweet husband for blessing me with a mommy's day off!

Hosanna

Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You,
we turn to You
Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for You,
we long for You
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In your presence all our fears are washed away, washed away
Ho-san-na, ho-sanna
You are the God who saves us,
worthy of all our praises.
Ho-san-na, ho-sanna
Come have Your way among us
We welcome You here, Lord Jesus
Hear the sound of hearts returning to You,
we turn to You
In your Kingdom broken lives are made new,
You make us new!

The words of this song in bold melted my heart in worship this morning.  So did some of the words of my husband's sermon this morning about Change..."You see even the painful, hurting places in our lives are often the very places God works."- Reverend Beau
Hope you had a "Happy Sabbath" as my old seminary neighbor would say.

Kindergarten Here I Come!

On the first day of school...I picked out my own shirt, I walked into school, I laughed, I cried, I got really sweaty, I made my teacher and my aide fall in love with me, I drank my juice box like a big boy and chose my own snack out of my fire truck lunch box, and at the end of the day I said, "done!"

Happy 30th Birthday my Phone A Friend!

Publish PostHave you ever seen the show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Each contestant gets to have a phone a friend. I would hands down choose my friend Desiree Hamilton! Let me tell you why...1. I know she would be waiting for the call she would not miss it! 2. I know she would prepare herself (even though she is a busy mom with limited time) by studying up on various topics 3. She is an amazing encourager...so even if she could not give me the right answer she would encourage me more than I think anyone else could in 30 seconds. Desiree and I have been phone a friends for over 15 years. In high school we spent countless mornings on the phone before school praying for each other. We prayed for tests, friends, boys we liked, and for more serious things like our parents finances and for my mom to be healed of her cancer. Since high school we have never lived in close proximity to each other...but we have remained connected through the phone. Desiree is am amazing mother of two precious girls. She and I share in common that all of our kids are very close in age and we also both have a child with special needs. She is a wonderful wife, sister, and daughter and she loves her family unconditionally. She is the most reliable and encouraging friend that one could have. She doesn't do anything in life half way...she is totally dedicated to her family and friends. She is a lot of fun...we have spent countless hours in laughter together. She passionately loves her Savior above all else. I am so very blessed to call Desiree my friend! Happy 30th birthday my amazing phone a friend! I love you lots, Kris

Last summer BBQ

We had our last summer BBQ this evening before school starts.  Corn on the cob and watermelon faces graced our presence. So cute!
