She's Here!

My sister Erin's baby is here!  Emma Grace Asamoto arrived on Saturday September 19th at 6:20pm.  She weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 in. long...and she is as cute as a button!  The kids and I drove up to Santa Cruz and got to meet Emma the very hour she was born!  Eden's first comment to me about Emma was..."she's just so beautiful mom." I am in love with my new niece and am going through withdrawals having been away from her for 24 hours now.  Congratulations Robert and Erin!  She IS just beautiful...

A long awaited gift has arrived!

A new creation!
An auntie so in love!

Two excited cousins!

One precious babe and her super strong delivered the old fashioned way mama!
One delivered...one to go....there will be one more niece to come on Friday...just 3 more days Megs!  Hang in there!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow...

At 7:30pm tonight...my tiny tots were fast asleep...my yummy farmer's market produce was put away (doesn't it look lovely)...the dishwasher and washing machine were wishing and washing...my husband was headed out the door to Andy's house...I was drinking hot apple cider and eating a Molasses cookie...it was quiet...and the Doxology began to ring in my head...
Praise God from whom all blessings flow...
Praise God all Creatures here below...
Praise God above Ye Heavenly Hosts...
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost...
Amen.

Happy Sabbath!

The Farm

My friend April said something to me recently that I just can't get out of my head...she said "This is it...our kids will only be this little once, this is our only chance to enjoy this stage of life."  I have been reminding myself of this each day....we went to a farm near Avila Beach today and Beau snapped this pic of me truly enjoying this one chance that I have to be a mommy of two tiny tots!

Apple picking, homemade ice cream, farm animals, roasted corn on the cob, fresh produce market and two sweet kids having so much fun!

Old MacDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O....
and on that farm he had boy so full of joy....
E-I-E-I-O....with a giggle giggle here and a grin grin there....

Labor Day

Well I did not go into labor today (maybe one of my sisters will)...but I did labor to get two kids and all of our beach gear onto the beach (with the help of the Rev) only to be blown to pieces by a fierce wind and to be swarmed by sand flies...Beau and I agreed we will check the weather report next time...oh and the clean up of the sandy no napped kids was also indeed labor...but look at how much fun they had...it was totally worth it!

The best quote about mothering I've ever heard!

"When you see a mother doing her mother thing,
when a mother's heart breaks for her children,
she is tapping into the very nature of who God is
and what God is like
and that is a gift.
That is grace,
that is divine."
