Holy is the Lord Under a Coffee Table

Asher's name is a Hebrew name and it means Happiness.  Most days Asher's name truly describes his state of being, but this weekend, Asher had a hard weekend.  There are just some times for him that all of life seems overwhelming and difficult and so he cries...and cries...and cries.  He has to work so hard to do the everyday simple tasks....things like feeding himself and sitting up in the bathtub and going through multiple diaper changes daily and trying his hardest to use his walker, sometimes, are all too much for him.  He is the sweetest and most lovable little boy and my heart breaks for him and life seems unfair when he struggles.  Today he did not want to go to Sunday School and be with the other kids so I sat with him in the sitting area of the sanctuary.  He rolled under a coffee table and stayed under there through most of the service reading his books.  I wished that I could have fit under that little oval table with him. Sometimes the everyday simple tasks of life are just too much for me as well...and I want to hide from it all.  This worship song was a great inspiration for me today...not to run and hide...but to stand and lift my hands for "the joy of the Lord is my strength."

HOLY IS THE LORD

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

And together we sing

[Chorus]
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

And together we sing
Everyone sing

[Chorus]
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

It's rising up all around
It's the anthem of the Lord's renown
Repeat

And together we sing,
Everyone sing

[Chorus]

Please pray for strength for Asher this week and have a Happy Sabbath!

Sundays

You are washed clean...FORGIVEN by your Saviour...rest in the Peace of Christ!
Sundays are for worship, fellowship and rest....
Today I worshipped...one of our college students wrote a
new tune to this old hymn
        Leaning On His Everlasting Arms
  1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms;

What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms.

    Refrain:

    Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;

Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms;

Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms?

I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,

    Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What a great reminder for this week that we have His everlasting arms to lean on.

I swayed with Asher on my hip while singing this song and thought...Asher is a great example of this...he is forced to rely on others to help him along in life, and instead of resisting the help and trying to go it on his own...Asher submits and relies on others to help him.  I wish it was so easy for me to rely on God for my every need, but all too often I try to do it all on my own even though he is right there to help me. As Asher rested on my hip with my arms wrapped around him...I realized once again...I have a lot to learn from Asher!

....Oh the fellowship and rest...we had lunch at Baja Fresh with some of our college students and I took a nap today!

     Happy Sabbath!

Super Soccer Kick

I think that my kids have learned more from Dora the Explorer than they have from me sometimes...Eden started a parent and tot soccer class today and WOW she has some skill for a tiny little girl.  She is one of only 2 girls in her class of 10 and she showed me her SUPER SOCCER KICK (which she learned from a Dora episode of course).  Way to go Babs!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF US...

There are 4 of us in our clan...but most days it is just us 3 amigos most of the day...me and my kids!  Just so you know...we are totally normal...my kids may look like little cherub blonde angels...but they have their off beat moments regulary as do I.  I took the kids to a Kids Cuts to get Eden's hair cut for the first time today...she freaked out...would not wear the apron...the hairdresser was very rude to both Eden and I (maybe she was having a bad day)...but we ended up completing the task.  I think this picture sums it all up...

Her hair turned out cute...the end.

She's Early!

She's here...she's perfect...and she was early!  My sister Megan had her baby!  The very cute Rebecca Marie was born this morning weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces and she is 20 inches long.  She is just beautiful and we can't wait to meet her!  When I was praying with Eden tonight she asked if she could call her new cousin "Becca" and asked if we could see her really soon!  We'll be there soon Megs and Becca!

The proud mama and her little girly!

She is just perfect!

We love you Rebecca Marie you are a blessing!
